Welcome!

*************************************************************************
It Was a Very Good Year!

TO CLOSE OUT ITS YEAR COVENANT PW DISTRIBUTED  $1100 AS FOLLOWS:

$100 to Hope House, a “home-away-from-home” for seriously ill outpatients receiving medical treatment in Jackson that provides lodging, food, laundry services, and transportation at no cost to its guests.

$500 to Flowers House, part of Stewpot Ministries, which is an emergency shelter for women with children.  It will now remain open during the day to accommodate small children and will transport older children to school.  Sims House, which also serves women and children, is designed for longer stays. Matt’s House, now will be limited  to transient women without children.

$500 to The Vulnerable Children’s Fund, part of The Outreach Foundation.  It helps feed, clothe, educate, and nurture children who  otherwise would have no place other than the street to call home.  Most of an estimated 150 million homeless children in the world today live in urban centers of developing African countries, but there are also many who live in Russia, Brazil, and other parts of the world.

DURING THE YEAR CIRCLES ADOPTED THEIR OWN MONTHLY PROJECTS:

Circle 1 collected paper goods and money for the Ronald McDonald House.
Circle 2  collected generous amounts of money for Hope House to aid out of town patients being treated in outpatient clinics throughout Jackson, and for their families staying with them.
Circle 3 subscribed to the Clarion-Ledger delivered to Matt’s House, a Stewpot ministry, so that the women could check the classified ad sections for employment opportunities.  The circle also collected paper goods for Matt’s House.
Circles 4 and 5  packed small traveling bags with books, dental supplies, shampoo, and toys for the Emergency Shelter for Children sponsored by Christians in Action, Inc.

CASSEROLES FOR THE COAST continue to be  prepared as part of the assignment for Cluster C of the PW of  Mississippi Presbytery  for distribution to the volunteers who are still coming from all over the United States to help  rebuild the Coast.
